Artist Statement

The black community's experiences, both collective and individual, are uniquely diverse and often overlooked. Motivated by this, I use detailed figuration and portraiture to explore a range of narratives within the black community. My art serves as a focal point for depicting the emotions and realities of the black human experience, aiming to provoke thought and spark dialogue. Vibrant colors convey the depth of these messages, while the figures, are rendered in a spectrum of beige and brown hues. Working primarily with acrylic paint and digital illustration, I aim to amplify voices and perspectives that have historically been marginalized.
